Euan Macpherson

Euan is a Lecturer in Communication at Dundee College. He is a published author (The Trial of Jack the Ripper, Mainstream, 2005) and has written several plays. Blood on the Tay was performed in Broughty Castle by the Open Door Theatre Company in July 2001, Burning Rings of Fire in The Lemon Tree by WAC Theatre Company in 2010, and an excerpt from Five Days in February at Dundee Rep in 2009.

An enthusiastic and discerning audience watched rehearsals at 6.30pm before attending the performed reading at 7.30. A lively and thought-provoking discussion with the writer then followed.

Euan had been looking forward to the reading and to hearing what the audience had to say about his work. He was  very happy with the outcome. It gave him a number of helpful pointers as to how to take the piece forward, hopefully to full performances in the future.

The members of Dundee Dramatic Society who directed and performed the reading did excellent work, and clearly enjoyed the process.

The aim is now to build on the success of the evening with a view to making these rehearsed readings a regular feature at the Little Theatre.
