PLAY READINGS 2012-2013

Following the success of the rehearsed play readings held in the spring and summer of 2012, Dundee Playwrights’ Workshop and Dundee Dramatic Society ran a further programme of four workshops in 2013 at The Little Theatre in Dundee.

A selection of scripts submitted by members of Dundee Dramatic Society, Dundee Playwrights’ Workshop and students at Dundee University was rehearsed and read on stage by the Society. After the reading, members of the audience had the opportunity to discuss each play with the writer.

All reports indicate that everyone who participated in these evenings thoroughly enjoyed them. Writers saw their work come to life and appreciated the feedback. Actors and directors had an extra opportunity to hone their skills and audiences seemed to enjoy the readings. On behalf of Dundee Playwrights Workshop founder members Donald Gunn and Bob Ballantine would like to thank everyone who made these events possible – the writers, actors, directors, Dundee Dramatic Society, Dundee University staff and students, and of course the audience members who entered into the spirit of the process so well.
